The 2002 membership drive for the Whiting Woods Property Owners Association is ongoing. If you haven’t already joined, or would like more information, please contact your Block Director. Dues are $15 per year. Your dues are used to support just some of the issues and activities outlined in this newsletter.

FIRE SAFETY PROGRAM STILL ACTIVE
This program, approved by the Glendale Fire Department, was started in 1997 and consists of volunteer patrols of the Woods during fire conditions. Because of this program, Whiting Woods was chosen as one of 10 nation-wide areas to participate in the Firewise Communities USA program. Watch for more information on this item.
PS - We need all the volunteers we can get. You can volunteer for as short as 1 hour daily during the critical fire condition. If you wish to help, please contact Larry Van Avery at lvanavery@aol.com.
COMMUNITY WATCH
Just a reminder - be aware of unusual incidents that you may see in the Woods. Glendale Police are more than happy to respond to your calls. If you see anything out of the ordinary, please call the Glendale Police Department at (818) 548-4840
WHITING WOODS WEB SITE
YES Whiting Woods has a Web site. We hope that the site will provide residents with source of information important to us all, as well as general information and links to other sites. There are areas of interest for all adults and young people in the Woods.
Just another plea to watch your driving habits in the Woods. There are children at play on almost every street. Also, please watch the way you turn those corners. Many folks have been cutting the corners short and there WILL be an accident if we’re not more careful. Please pay attention to speed limits and stop signs - better safe than sorry!
